Westgate Cruise - A Resounding Success!!!
Troop 399 and some guests joined the crew for a relaxed cruise to Westgate Landing to enjoy some swimming and water fun. The Scouts from the troop helped crew the ship during the weekend getting a taste of what it takes to move the old girl down the river. They all did a great job and as the pics will show, everyone had a great time.

AMR Cruise
The Delta Alliance team cruised the Point Weber to the USS Hornet in Alameda for the Ancient Mariner's Regatta. We got underway at 1620 on Friday for the cruise in, and arrived at about 2330. Then it was lights out to get a good nights sleep before the competition started Saturday morning. Competition continued through Sunday afternoon. The day was capped off with a Quartermaster Bridge after the Dress Blue Inspection and then the social activities started. Monday morning we were underway again for the cruise home. We stopped along the way in Antioch at the River View restaurant for lunch and then on to Stockton.
Check the gallery for pics of all the regattas.
Local Sea Scouts perform Color Guard
Scouts from the Point Weber, Siren Song and Tuolumne served as color guard for the 6th annual Stockton Yacht Club Flag Retirement Ceremony. Over 60 flags were retired from service in a moving and inspiring ceremony performed by Ron Malquist at the Stockton Yacht Club. The Scouts also helped dedicate the club's new flag pole.
Thanks go out to the club for inviting us to help with this event
Westgate Regatta Training Cruise
The Point Weber and The Tuolumne cruised to Westgate for a weekend of regatta training for the Delta Alliance Team. We worked on dingy race, ring buoy, first aid and scuttlebutt. Troop 295 cruised with us and after a great BBQ dinner, the troop treated us to some great dutch oven desserts. Thanks to Gannon for making some good cobblers. Click the image above for all the pics.
Sea Scouts at the Council Recognition dinner

Sea Scouts from the Point Weber, Tuolumne, and Siren Song helped out at the annual council recognition dinner. Heather made a short presentation about Sea Scouts and how it lends to career opportunities.
Stockton Yacht Club Crab Feed
Scouts from the Point Weber, Tuolumne, and Siren Song served dinner to nearly 250 members and guests of the Stockton Yacht Club Saturday night. The event was a resounding success raising much need funds for their individual accounts. We'd like to thank the yacht club for the opportunity to help and for their generosity and look forward to helping out again next year.
Stockton Firefighter's Crab Feed
The crews of the Point Weber, Siren Song, Tuolumne, and Lodi's Troop 295 served dinner to nearly 700 hungry crab eaters at this annual fundraiser for the Stockton Firefighters Auxiliary organization. A community service project the Sea Scouts have been doing for a number of years. 23 scouts gathered and worked tirelessly providing top notch service to those who supported the event. This also serves as a fundraiser for the scouts who collect tips for their hard work. This money is used throughout the year for uniforms and program costs.
Napa Bridge & Ball / Practice Regatta
The crew of the Point Weber and Siren Song attended the Napa event hosted by the SSS Chaser at the Napa Sea Scout Base. Everybody had good time despite the drizzly overcast day. We all got to practice some regatta events and take part in the non-competitive regatta. Then we all got into our dress blues for the Bridge and Ball.
Ashley received her Apprentice award. Congrats!!!! to her for her hard work.
Check the gallery for some pics of the day's fun!

A Great Cruise To YBI

The Point Weber made the cruise to YBI for a weekend of hands on training for the scouts by the US Coast Guard. The scouts had a great time and learned about safety on the water and on their vessels. The Siren Song cruised with us and helped crew the boat for the weekend. We also provided berthing for the crew and officers of the San Francisco unit. Tyler served as OIC for the day and got lots of great pics of the crew in action. Check the gallery to see all the fun.
Hog Island Clean Up
Scouts from all the local units helped again this year as we cleaned up Hog Island during the Coastal Clean Up Day. Five Star Marina, one of our program sponsors, is working to make this island a wildlife refuge area where the public can visit and learn about the abundant wildlife we have in our delta. We are proud to be a part of this project and will continue to support their efforts to get this project completed.
